Heavy Rainfall Brings Relief to Hyderabad as Showers Lash Several Areas
HYDERABAD, TELANGANA — Several parts of Hyderabad received moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday, bringing much-needed relief from warm and humid conditions that had persisted across the city in recent days.
Areas including Kukatpally, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Hitech City, Secunderabad, Dilsukhnagar, and LB Nagar witnessed spells of rain accompanied by cloudy skies and cool winds. The sudden change in weather led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, providing relief for commuters and residents.
While many welcomed the showers, rainfall also resulted in slow-moving traffic on major roads during peak hours. Water accumulation was reported in some low-lying areas, causing minor disruptions to vehicle movement. Traffic congestion was observed at several busy junctions as motorists navigated wet road conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that Hyderabad could continue to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms over the coming days due to favorable weather conditions across the region.
Residents have been advised to remain cautious during periods of heavy rain, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging. Motorists are urged to drive carefully as slippery roads and reduced visibility may increase the risk of accidents.
The fresh rainfall has improved weather conditions across the city and raised hopes for a stronger monsoon season in Telangana. Farmers and agricultural communities in surrounding districts are also closely monitoring rainfall activity as they prepare for the upcoming cultivation season.
Weather officials continue to track developments and are expected to issue further updates if significant rainfall activity is forecast for Hyderabad and nearby regions.
