Iranian Attack on Kuwait Airport Leaves Indian National Dead

KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT — An Indian national was killed after an Iranian missile and drone attack struck Kuwait International Airport early Wednesday, according to the Embassy of India in Kuwait.

The attack damaged parts of Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport, injured several people, and temporarily disrupted flight operations. Kuwaiti authorities diverted incoming flights while emergency crews responded to the scene and assessed the damage. 

Airport operations later resumed from other terminals after safety inspections were completed.

In a statement, the Indian Embassy expressed its condolences and said it is working closely with Kuwaiti authorities to provide assistance and support to the victim's family. India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also condemned the attack and called for an immediate end to strikes targeting civilian populations and civilian infrastructure.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry described the strike as a serious attack on civilian facilities. The assault came amid renewed military escalation in the Gulf region, with Iran launching missiles and drones toward Kuwait and other neighboring states following fresh military exchanges involving the United States and Iran.

Kuwait Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased Indian national. Investigations into the attack and the full extent of the damage remain ongoing.

The incident has raised concerns among the large Indian expatriate community in Kuwait, where hundreds of thousands of Indian citizens live and work across various sectors. .Officials continue to monitor the situation as regional tensions remain high.
